    Leaky 727 Torqueflite

This '83 Range Rover leaks transmission fluid from the drain hole in the bellhousing, either when idling in neutral, (while trying to sort out the engine), or after a run, (while trying to sort out the engine). I was wondering, if I happen to change the engine, (that's another epic), would it be possible to get into the front of the transmission and fix the leak? I looked at the manual and parts book and they don't exactly make this obvious.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

Torqueflites are known for the nose of the converter cracking around the weld. A converter reconditioner should be able to fix it easily. I had one done on a CL Valiant 318 once years ago.
