V8 to Diesel Auto question!!
O.K> Doing the V8 to Diesel mod & The rave tells me the diesel will bolt up to the auto with one small bell housing mod, the thing I want to know is what Torque converter would be best to use?? The V8 one, a Diesel one?? or is there another option since the tranny is used in heaps of other cars??
I know what they say about opinions, so drop ya trousers & show me your opinions.....

I would expect that you'd have to run the V8 TC so that it will bolt up to the flex plate.
Also, I think you may find the V8 and diesel autos are setup differently with shift points etc.

Believe that the v8 box behind the diesel doesn't give the best results, from what I've read and been told.
Just had this swap done and we used a diesel auto box. There's a few things that are different between the way they are mounted and operate (crossmember, cooler, cooler pipes), enough for me to think that they are different enough to require the diesel box behind the diesel.

The major difference is in the valve block in the auto. V8 and Tdi applications are very different.
You ought investigate whether the drive plate holes on the diesel will line up with the V8 torque converter bolt holes. I'm not sure that they will. Get a heavy duty drive plate (new) to use before you assemble the shooting match.
