Any studs that I hope not to need to remove, I use loctite retaining compound (the high temp one) on. IRC I used it one all the studs you mention when I fitted my new head recently.
Howdy,
I am just in the midst of replacing the head on my 300Tdi with a performance head from Turners. The new head doesn't have the studs fitted for things like the Rockers, Injector Clamps etc. which means I will have to transfer them accross from the old head. Do I Loctite the studs in place on the new head or not?
Thanks,
Chookie

yes, with antisieze compound. unless you are DAMN sure you dont want to take them out again ever...
anything you use that will let you get them out again wont take the heat from the head (particulalry the exhaust ones) without relaxing rendering putting it in in the first place kind of pointless.

when you heat up most loctites they let go there are some that are heat tolerant but they grip very well and typically require stupid amounts of heat, solvent, or redonkulous levels of torque to free up.
