Hi All,
Anybody contemplating a body lift on their Disco 1? Firstly good on you! I have just done so to make room for my 33's. With the 2.5 inch suspension lift already done, I cant wait for my flares to arrive next week (ex UK and still cheaper than any Aussie supplier).
The White Tiger body lift went in a treat with only a few minor mods needed on the front chassis/Bull bar mounts.

Caution!
A few things to look for if you plan to lift your Disco closer to the heavens.

Read the instructions! The worlds most widely published but least read book. White Tiger have done a great job with the instructions and warn to keep a good eye on things when lifting the body.
Dont lift it any more than you need too. 3 inches was more than enough to allow fitment of the blocks, even then, lift an inch at a time making sure that nothing over stretches/fouls etc.

Stuff I found that wasn't in the instructions.....
Disconnect the MAF unit from your air box before lifting if you have a snorkel fitted. (you risk tearing the rubber boot from MAF to throttle body)
Remove the retaining bolts on your power steer cooler in front of the radiator fans. (you will break the pipe if you go nuts with the jack)
Look carefully to make sure the side steps are attched to the body only or the chassis only. Mine were a mix of locations and I admit, I only discovered it after the first jacking attempt!
On my V8, I noticed the Drivers Side bottom radiator hose will rub on the aircon pully after the lift. The coolant resivoir hose joins this hose in a "T" and it is this hose which will rub. Disaster avoided, I found I need all five of the shims supplied to extend the steering shaft to a suitable length. (I hope you loosend them off before the lift!........)

I hope this info helps anyone contemplating the job in the future. All this stuff was not in the instruction but dont be put off. The White Tiger kit is well made and the instructions make sense. Get of your bum and have a go.

Cheers Stumpy
