Thread: D2 ACE hoses

Is it the thick hose that runs under the pump with strange twists and turns and is a different size at each end? This one went on mine and couldn't get a replacement so went off to pirtek/enzed and you can use a reducing elbow to both get the bends and reduce the sizes.

enzud reckon they just crimp new hose on the old hose,, wont touch the original fittings, so if its an original crimp thats leaking----

If it's a crimped hose then it's a pressure line, the one I described either the suction or return line to/from pump (can't remember).

The Land Rover website that had the clearance stuff has a bunch of ACE stuff (incl complete axle component assys) and I think that there was some hose available. But otherwise just remove and cut into the crimp sleeves at either end with a hacksaw, on opposite sides, until almost into the line. Then without bending the line itself, jamb a long nose pliers under the sleeve and bend the sleeve back and it should tear off. Enzed etc should be able to re-crimp, take the pieces of the sleeve so they can match up the type. Otherwise have them silver solder a male JIC end onto it and then they can make up a generic hose that can be replaced by anyone in hydraulics. This is probably the better option actually and they way I'd go.

Unless you want a noisy ACE system, replace with a new Genuine 2 piece one.

The OE ones have inline chokes to stop pulses and hydraulic 'noise' during operation, I have had a bad experience replacing that pressure line with a made up one, all now get new genuine 2 piece lines, an upgrade due to the total impossibility of replacing the 1 piece one that was fitted DURING manufacture, IE without the body on

Hmm, not sure, I can find out tomorrow. PM me your VIN. I DID have trouble getting the pressure line at the time but that was 2 years ago now.

Checked in Microcat, and the earlier parts have been obsoleted. The OSI part is the same as the MY04 part number.

Front section for the V8 is RQB000270
Rear section for V8/TD5 is RQB000380

Filter is RVJ100010 and appears there is at least an allmakes aftermarket version.
