Thread: what brand of clutch-- 300 TDI.

We need a new clutch for our 1995 300TDI disco. Genuine or aftermarket? are their any brands or types of Clutch to avoid? will probably get a NON-landrover mechanic to do the job as it is just a clutch, but do not want one that is no good.

No manufacturers make there own clutches. An example is when I replaced the clutch on my old patrol the clutch cover was stamped "Nissan" and "daikin" so I sourced a daikin clutch at a 3rd of the cost. I'm fairly sure that the rover units are valeo clutches so check out the various LR sellers on the interweb such as paddock spares. I have heard that Brit part clutches are poor but have no experience with them..
