Don't know about two strokes but I have fond memories smell of the Eso and Jawa speedway solos that ran on methanol and Castrol R castor oil, back in the long gone days of my youth

usually sulphur-phosphorous, which if not buffered can corrode yellow metals) or if you want to be really careful use one that uses a Borate-ester additive package.
I've plugged this lot into Babelfish and Google Translate but neither of them could turn it into English???

But seriously, thanks Rick. I'll see if I can find a TDS for my ol' VMX and check those figures.

    VMX Will be fine.

From memory it's a 75w-80 mineral oil equivalent in viscosity to MTF 94, just doesn't flow as well at low ambients that we never see in this country except maybe in the snow.

    VMX-S was a 75w-85

I used to love the smell of Castrol R30 that I used to use in my kart way back in the mists of time, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

I'd tip the left overs in to dear old Dads V8 Commodore.
It was lovely letting it waft past when sitting at a set of lights.
A lot of bloke used to comment on the aroma, wondering what sort of witches brew I was running. Penrite Sin Manual Trans 75/85 Vs Castrol Syntrans

Changed to Penrite 75/85 from dex3 today. No noticable difference yet.Only a 20 minute drive tough. A bit worse even if I may say.

How does the Penrite Pro Gear 75W90 look for the MT82 box in TDCis?

Does the MT82 have a problem with GL5 oils (yellow metals?)

Most modern GL5 fluids are buffered so are safe for yellow metals, but....

The extra treatment rate of EP additives in GL5 oils over and above GL4 oils can impact on synchro function unless the right FM's are used to enhance synchro performance.

Oils like Motul Gear 300, Castrol Syntrax Universal work fine in synchro 'boxes, and I'm guessing Penrite have done the same with Pro Gear 75W-90 but I have no experience with it.

ATF's are thin compared to what you've put in it that initial shift quality will be a little worse, but as the oil warms it'll be better and the 'box should be far less noisy and shift better when hot.
As the new FM's embed themselves into the hub faces shift quality should improve.

The R380 runs hot, I logged some temps years ago and found that within about 7km from leaving home the temp was past 70*C and rising just cruising down the highway at 100km/h.

    Thanks Rick.

Yeah I read somewhere in the meantime that it gets worse initially and then improves. I hope it does. Downshifting to second gear is starting to turn heads with amount of rattle involved. This my "temporary box" as I have rebuilt one on hand. But it will also serve as a test box for other oils if I'm not happy with this one.

I also run redline MTL in my R380 Initially very poor changes after the service no idea what oil the 1st owner used or his mechanic used it maybe took about 2k for it to settle.
I have done maybe 35 k now and am very impressed.
I would recomend MTL on my experience
