    3.9 efi water pump D1

    Hi,

Looking for a new water pump, did the screwdriver check, bearings sound like a bag of nails.

Is Airtex a good brand or QH, want to steal clear of britpart / bearmach too much hassle

I suspect ive a slight water leak from the seal as its used a little water over the last few 500k's, only 1/4 of a litre nothing huge, can't find no other leaks.

Last year had the timing cover off replacing the cam, local signs of pitting, pressed steel impeller water pump, is this the oem design or replacement part?

Would like OEM but the cost is crazy!

    Any suggestions?

the oem part is a cast item.

I get all my spare parts from MR automotive in QLD.

There are several providers in the UK such as paddocks and brit parts but IME brit parts quality control is kinda hit and miss and seems to come and go in "patches" whereas paddocks is running about 80% consistantly (this is mainly based upon work Ive done for other people who have purchased their own parts).

    Thanks, for the replies Gents.

Just picked up a new OEM pump, looked high & low for a QH part, some of them looked pretty bad, the box was English , the internal paperwork was in Chinese, wasn't even going to take the risk, too many fake parts over here.....

Got it for around 150USD, so I'm happy, hopefully the cast impeller should give better performance then the pressed / bent steel one, as its a better profile.

Looking at all the markings, seems like Airtex make for LR, so as in insurance spare will order one of these from here.
