OK so reluctantly took the defender to the shop to get the nuts removed. They are off and replaced with standards nuts. Now I can sleep at night again.
Will be changing brake pads over the weekend, will definitely be drowning the nuts in some sort of lubricant!
There was a thread on here about this recently. I always use Loctite anti-seize just on the threads and it's worked well for years.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
