First thing I did to my Discovery was get rid of the locking nuts.

$50.00 for four standard wheel nuts, 2nd hand from a tyre fitter
$75.00 for a 27mil socket and breaker bar

Not having to worry about the lock nuts next time I get a flat, priceless.

There was a thread on here about this recently. I always use Loctite anti-seize just on the threads and it's worked well for years.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

I always use a bit of anti seize on the threads but that didn't help a couple of months ago when I bent the LR wheel nut remover trying to loosen them. Back to the tyre dealer and complained and he immediately got one of his lads to remove them and hand torque them back up.
I was trying to get them off to replace the nuts damaged by an oaf (since sacked) using the rattle gun employed by this same place who quite willingly paid for replacement nuts.
When I had a Td5 I replaced the locknuts with standards so will do that again and buy a decent 3/4 drive socket and bar for the future.
