    Series 3 Gearbox

    G'day all,

My brothers 79 Series 3 won't go into 3rd or 4th. We have removed the top cover and it looks like one the 3 detent springs in the 3rd / 4th sincro have broken and is jamming things up.

Has anyone had any experience in removing / replacing these springs.

    Thanks in advance

    Ben

According to this link it is possible to replace the springs with the gearbox in the car.Personally I don't see how it can be done without some incredible luck. W.

later suffix box than the manual, your manual is missing supplements. all critical specs are the same.
