Definately, but for a Defender I would either use a kit from airbag man, (straight fit), OR use D2 rear bags, with a 2" lift spacer/ adapter from les richmond automotive, which will bolt straight to the defender lower spring plate on the axle housing, and a bit of minor fab work for the upper perch as the defender uses a larger OD spring. I am thinking of this for my County as the D2 rear bags are cheapish, and easily available. I would also consider using the D2 compressor and solenoids with incab rocker switches and pressure gauges instead of height sensors and electrickery.

When I ever get some spare time I'll be trying this out on my 110.

I am REALLY impressed with the ride and versatility of airsprings, and basically they are very reliable, all or most of the airsuspension issues we seem to encounter are electronic control problems, or just old age.

Very interested in the conversion you did. What (if anything) would you need to do to limit extension? Would the situation occur that the airbag could tear itself into two from over extension? What about full compression of the bag?

In my particular case I'm currently using 2" coils and 2" longer Konis on the back. I've previously used the Firestone bags inside the coils, but one failed, so they got taken out.

    Hi Goldey,

The limiting factor for these is the length of the shock absorber. In this case it has standard length units, IF you were to go for 2" raised for example, you would be best off getting the 2" spacers for the lower mount, commercially available IIRC from les richmond automotive in Melbourne?

Anyway, if you are careful about shock selection etc then you should have no problems at all.

Just in case anybody wants some more information, my thread over here: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread...35#post1704035 has diverged into an airspring discussion, which hopefully helps.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
