Advice on new battery for Puma
Hello guys,
I've had cause recently to go digging about in my battery compartment and I've found a pretty big mess in there and am putting it down to a crack or some other major fault with my OEM battery.
It had leaked once before but the dealer told me it was due to a kink in the vent. The vent isn't kinked this time...
I've found a very large amount of calcification (or whatever it is) around the base of the batteries and all over the tray and floor and none of it appears anywhere near the terminals.
I'm considering cutting my losses and ditching the original to go for a new battery and could really do with your advice.
I was thinking of swapping my yellow-top Optima over to cranking duties and buying a larger size blue-top to use as my auxiliary, giving about 75Ah capacity instead of my current 55Ah.
Can you think of a better solution to this? I want to avoid wet cell and I can't find any AGM battery that will provide more capacity.
Cheers,
James
