Have you disconnected the two actuators by removing the plugs as well?
I used a pdf installation file from the td5alive site when I did my D2, it's got some good pictures of each step.
Hi there gurus,
A couple of weeks ago I eventually removed the EGR from my 2002 Defender TD5. I left the water plumbing and cooler in place, as I want to convert it into a hot water shower. I traced the vacuum pipes back to the valves and blocked them with suitable screws.
There is now buzzing noise coming from the valves after I've been driving for a while, they are quite when I start the engine though.
Is that something that I'll just have to get used to or did I do something wrong or is there still something I need to do?
Cheers, Jurgens.

The file states the exhaust blanking plate does not need a gasket, however, mine developed a leak after a short time, I could hear it, took a bit to track it down. Made a gasket for it, replaced the allen headed bolts with proper bolts [ same spec, tension, as manifold bolts], all good. Bob
