Hey
I currently own a 1993 110 wagon 200tdi defender. My defender has substantial rust in the firewall and I have been looking around for a half decent firewall to replace it (with no luck).
I recently came across a 93 110 ute with its body in good condition and I have been considering doing a body swap.
Do you guys have any advice for me?
How long would you estimate it to take if I had three guys working on it with me (1 mechanic and another an auto electrician?
What problems could I come across?
I have access to all the tool I would need and a hoist, so if possible I could just lift off my wagon body.

Its not too tricky. Get inc's CD with all the defender manuals on it, then go through and write down all the part numbers for bolts and grommets etc so you can get them in advanced - its a lot quicker to cut off a seized bolt and just use a new one than stuff around sometimes.
When I did my firewall, seized bolts took a huge chunk of the time.. and its not a good feeling spending all weekend and only get one or two bolts off. Not good for morale!
If you have all your bolts, seals etc and are keen you could do it in a week without too much trouble.
The time will be spent waiting for little bolts and bits that you find that are broken.
You will have to disconnect the clutch master & slave to do replace the firewall, so you may as well get new ones. Have a think about what sort of 'while you have it in bits' jobs that you might want to do and get the parts before you start.
