Thread: E clips / e type circlips / retaining washers

Hi all, I have just striped down my hand winch to dislodge a twisted cable between the two sets of jaws and clean the mud out / re grease.

Can the retaining clips (or whatever you want to call them- seems they have many names) be reused or should I get new ones to re assemble?

Do they lose there ability to hold on after you take them on and off a few times?

We use these clips on photocopiers at work. You can reuse them heaps of times. If they get a bit loose you can gently squeeze them back together a bit and reuse them.
