    trailer timber flooring removal difficult

Anyone got any tips on how to remove my enclosed trailers plywood floor .
Problem is the screws (countersunk self tappers) that are used through the timber into the framework below are rusted in and cant be unscrewed . I dont want to damage the 3 sheets that make up the floor at $75 each I wish to reuse them .
They screw through angle irons so I can clearly see and get to the screw points from underneath the trailer. They are poking through a good half inch .

Are u using an impact driver or a normal cordless drill. If u can find a cordless impact drill it uses a hammer action to put screws in and out and wont chew out the screw heads.

Even if u punch the head that will loosen it up just dont bend the screw cause then it will be harder to get out.

Use a 3mm or 4mm drill to put a centre hole in each screw. Keep the pressure on the drill and use a slow speed to keep it cutting. when they're all done, follow with about a 10mm drill, which will match the profile of the head of the screw, you should be able to cut away the screw head allowing you to lift the ply off the shanks. unscrew the shanks later with visegrips. probably best to use new drills, go slow, and be ready to stop before you bore right through the ply. Perhaps fit a suitable piece of tube to the 10mm drill as a depth stop to prevent accidents.

This is what I was thinking but dont know how a drill bit will start off into the phillips head without catching and breaking the drill bit .
One way to find out I guess !
