    Disco1 question

    What year did they ditch the stupid ball joint in the pitman arm? And what dia is the standard drag link? I'm going to sort out my defender pitman arm once and for all sick and tired of changeing ball joints because of failed boots

    Ditch it? Why are you going through them? Quality ones last a long time even with huge abuse, IME.

    The boots fail. Lots of spot lighting in tall grass the grass seems to wrap around the joint and kills the boot have tried genuine and non same problem thought it might be something I'm doing wrong when changeing them so I tryed a complete new arm same drama. If I go the disco route it will probly still happen but changeing a tie rod end is easy and cheap. It not realy the joints fault it's how it's getting used just want to make lt a bit easier

    A steering guard should provide some protection and try silicone boots on the joints.Sure I have seen them somewhere online?
