Uk wolfs run heavy duty rims, akk wolf rims that are steel, not alloy. So do most users of land rover military land rovers world wide, have done for years.

Saying that g4 range rovers used stock factory alloy rims in 2006 with no issues, with defender 110 support .

Juddy what are the sawtooth looking rims used in Afghanistan on sand coloured 110s?

Last I read the defender brochures, the HD steel are needed on the 130's, on others it's a cosmetic choice. I also think you'd break something else before you'll break a LR alloy wheel. They are very strong.

We got 9 tyres swapped round on a few sets of wheels (so i ended up with the STT's off the D2 on my D1) ended up costing us $250 at mates rates!!!!! For removal, fitting and balancing. Needless to say i knocked the 3 tyres onto the trailer wheels...

thank you to all for the feedback, it's good to hear that there are no real issue with alloy except for the scratches and minor damage.

I didn't even bother with balancing. One is a spare, the other set are snow tyres which will only be on the car for another week or so. No shaking so far.
