I am surprised this hasn't been looked at before, either TDV8 or TDV6 into D2.
I had thought the ecu communicating to the bcu etc was the issue.

I think someone measured one up for a D1 and said it would fit, i can't see why not, if need be a custom sump could be fabricated, but imagine wiring the thing!!!

There was thread not so long ago showing a 2.7 TDV6 into a D1. Apart from the logistics...wiring etc I cant see why it couldn't be done with a D2. I think it was probably a bit simpler doing it in the D1 though.......
That said, would you really spend that kind of money on a car worth less than $5k? (on a D1 I mean)
D4 SDV6, a blank canvas
Because they have one of the best chassis ever designed I guess...
I'd like a TDV8 D2 ute, that's the ultimate dream machine!!
Why a V8, put the 3.0 TDV6 in 350 bhp and 700+ nm torque with new ecu. It fits and has been done, new ecu available and adapter to fit to 4 speed auto. Look here BodyLogic Control Systems- Diesel Engine Management, Epas, Indicator and Wiper Control Units. I priced a used motor last year at 4,000 quid. Ecu is 3,500 quid, the ecu is a problem that is why you have to by the one from body logic, seems the only one in the world available for this. The gearbox probably would not last long with that torque so updated gearbox, would have to be one from level10 in US, the strongest ZF in the world. Cost would probably be minimum of $20,000. I would use a late model D2, biggest issue would be to find an engineer to certify it.
What was this thread about, oh yes. As this is an early common rail diesel and not like the TDV6 which has about 2,000 Bar in the fuel rail with the injectors and ecu to work together. Upping yours would probably make no difference other than putting undue pressure on the system as suggested
