    ben, the inertia switch that sets off the flashers is inside the 10as unit, like that guy says in the link you posted. the crash switch is on the firewall and will disable the engine if triggered. they are seperate.

    the 10as alarm unit can't be removed or bypassed in td5 models, it can however be modified to remove the inertia switch from the circuit board. there is a tutorial somewhere on the net about this. google may reveal.

    I thought they were completely separate from what I read. Thanks...I'm not sure I want to start messing with the alarm system.
