    Tyre pressures for 750x16

What pressures are you blokes running on the road? My defender ute says 40psi front and 75 rear on the Placard Seems a little over the top so I'm running 40 in the front and 35 in the rear empty and 45 to 50 loaded What's every one else useing?

Looks like you have the basics pretty right.
If in doubt the 4Psi rule applies,

Mine came with 48 from the factory on all 4, I ran that until I let them down the first time to go offroad.

I run fronts at 40 and rears at 45 now. Up to 50 on rear if it is full for a trip.

    tyre pressure testing

Initially I ran the book ( haines ) figures for 750r16 but...

Having experimented with various pressures and prior experience with series 3 pressures currently running 28 front 34 rear no load around town and generally sitting less than 80km/hr. That's for a trayback with 750r16 michelin XZA.

Upto about 90 000km and not worn out yet.

These pressures take a lot of the crash rattle bang out.

Much closer to book figures fully loaded and the 4 psi rule.

Note these are tube type tyres.

With my 130 single cab (unladen) I am running 34 in the front and 28 in the rear. Smooth as . Well , a lot smoother than the recommended 40 / 75 on the placard.

I'm running 235/85's which are essentially the same as 750R16's.

Well as a test I dropped them all to 30 for the trip home from work anyhow I think 35 would be ok in the front and 30 in the rear empty to throw a spanner in the works what pressure are you running off road? I was thinking about 18psi off road depending on load of course. And my tyres are tubed of course
