    Defender gauges foggy

As the title says my gauges are fogging up not all the time just randomly like the other night 70k in to the high country when I hit the lights and they foged up just the fuel and temp. Yet on the way home from the expo the other day about an hour or so in to the trip broad day llight warm sunny day and foged up like bastards. What's the scoop?

My fuel gauge does it. The others don't.

    I've always wondered.....

yeah same foggy issues with my fuel gauge...

I'm slowley moving to a full VDO array which so far has replaced the temp gauge and speedo both of which were bobbing around all over the place. Fuel gauge next because it does not go past 3/4 and shoots down to empty from 1/4 in a matter of seconds! It's almost useless ... probably needs a new fuel sender too.

yeah mine drops to empty and then I have a few minutes to fill up if on the motorway! It can be stressful, I have been caught out a few times.. I always carry a jerry and I have to start looking for fuel when I get to 1/4, even though at that point I have 20 litres left in the tank - theres just no tracking consumption after that though! I'll try to sort it out before my next adventure.

I'm well impressed with the VDO gauges I have though, they look OEM, smooth movement, clear and accurate. A shame they seem to be the most expensive!

    As Mark said

    They all do it.

Although mine have not done it as much since living in Qld.

But out of the 8 defenders I have owned all of them have done it.
