Or intercooler hoses delaminating internally
Evening all
Yesterday I noticed that the take off 'power' in my disco had reduced. Whilst this power reduction is slight in first through third, the vehicle is positively sluggish in fourth and fifth. To get any increase in acceleration I have to plant the foot all the way to the floor, without any noticeable increase in revs. The vehicle revs normally when stationary in neutral or with the clutch in. The vehicle can get to a 100 kph but takes a long time to get there. The revs are normal for the speed travelled and there is no smoke or strange/abnormal engine noises.
From reading the forums it appears a number of its,s could be a fault with the most prominent being the wiring loom or contaminated diesel/fungus.
Advice from the wider community is appreciated.
With thanks
Tony.

Hello,
Until you can put it on a electronic diagnostic eg Nanocom to see if you have any faults, and can read the live data it is a bit hit and miss, best to see if anybody near you has a Nanocom to check things out, most likely it is very simple.

Turbo hose de-laminating?
We had a melted cat and did exactly that, give the exhaust pipe a good shake at the cat if you hear a bit rattling around inside its a good bet, its very simple easy thing to check and take off the checklist if its not it, the power lose had JC baffled until he hit the exhaust with his hand and said hmmmm thats not rite, replaced the cat and the old girl was back
Thanks for that, but to continue the story....... was driving today, heard a loud thank from the engine, engine cut out, managed to coast into a car park. Popped the hood, and discovered a rather burnt acrid smell. Tried to turn the engine over, no joy, starter engages but engine does not crank. Fault now expected to be main bearing/crank. This will hopefully not be too painful to the hip pocket. Towing arranged to the mechanic tomorrow.
Cheers and thanks for the advice received to date.
