    Smile EFS Suspension??

I'm looking at putting a 2" lift under my '96 disco, shopped around a bit already, and have a heavy duty 50mm lift kit from EFS through the local TJM dealer in my sights

Anyone had any experience with EFS suspension?

And does a 2" lift make it a Discovery a hairy drive?

Tax return just came in today, so pretty keen to get it done soon!

    Any help would be awesome

You may want to see this cheapest body lift kit plus some other theads, on body lift. We do have a 2 1/2 inch lift under our 1995 disco, ansdhave no problem except when going very fast around a corner when we do get a slight shudder. Previous owner never worked out what is causing that shudder.

But this shudder is very minor, and not all who do a lift get such a shudder.

We are currently planning a lift on our RR Classic, which underneath is basically the same as a discovery.

How handy are you with a spanner? Buy a set of King Springs from Coventry's at trade, buy you shock out of the USA at less than half the price of buying here in Australia and you will get Konis or Bilsteins, best on market.
I got quoted for my Defender $1700-$2200 to fit an OME lift shocks and springs only. Well for just on $1000 I got 4Bilsteins from the US ($464 AUD delivered to my door air freight - 4 days from order Shockwarehouse), a set of King Springs, a RTS steering Damper and a set of polyairs. Took me around 6 hrs total to fit.

As far. As I'm concerned EFS should be banned I had it put under my ladies prado and it was substantially worse than the worn out originals - no joy in taking it back was basically told how sad to bad. Besser bricks are better in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies, think i would rather buy it as a kit rather than bits a pieces, heard horror stories about shocks too long or too short... want something to fall back on. I've heard many mixed reviews about EFS, kinda planning to steer away from it now.. my other option is a tough dog kit, 35mm lift, costs a bit more, but might be better off in the long run...

    efs disco 2 inch lift

Hi there mate. I had a 2 inch efs kit fitted to my 95 tdi disco fitted in august this year after doing quite a bit of home work ,and i do most of the maintenance .after quotes just for parts i worked out that the efs kit was well reported on so i got it fitted.the ride does feel tighter, the steering turns like a gecko on steroids.and she runs BFG TA 235 x 75 x16 .mate its a bit of personal preference but she rides well and glad i got it fitted for 1400 bucks

For that money you can get LRA springs and Koni or Bilstein shocks
WAY better than the generic ome, efs, ironpoo stuff......
