Who can tell me where to get the shims that go behind the carrier bearings in a Salisbury?

Ebay Dana 60 shim kit, or any diff place will have D60 shims (same shims as salisbury 8HA).

advise you sacrifice a set of carrier bearings to set up your diff,
2 cones with the insides honed out to set up the diff, then once you know your shim pack just pull them off by hand and final fit using new bearing cones, saves wrecking your shims and cones by pulling them off if you get it wrong.

Was hoping to measure shims and new bearings against old bearings and work it out that way. Pinion is staying put, only replacing carrier bearings as when we put the Detroit locker in a year or so ago, it was then pressure cleaned, well guess what, water got in and stuffed the bearings, everything else is OK thank god.

    Heads up Damien

Actually be careful, I should have thought before, I ordered some D60 carrier shims and they sent the wrong set, be careful to ask that you get the small shims that go between the bearings and the carrier, not the big shims that go between the bearing cup and the housing, which are nigh on impossible to fit to a saliisbury without a housing spreader.

you will see the shims in this listing the picture shows both small & big, you will be throwing the big ones away.

the shims in this listing are shown next to the carrier bearings and look like the same size as the outer cup face

so pays to be sure when you order

    cheers Don

Just in case the ebay ones are no good here's the LR part numbers
    .003"................607188
    .005"................607189
    .010"................607190
    .030.................607191
I use bearing cone 388A to set it all up. This a cone only that slips onto the carrier (uses same cup) until you get the shims right. Makes it easy. Cheers Damo.

Thanks Brian, appreciate the phone call as well. I'll look into those parts, especially the bearing cone.
