Auto gearboxes are ideal for off- road work & generally perform better than manual boxes

    Auto on sand

My D3 only struggles when I'm too stubborn to drop the tyre pressure. In low, no dramas.

Mines a D1 3.9 same autobox, Level'ish dunes no bother at all (4 high)

But when you start to climb up step dunes sand bowls etc watch that tanny oil temp it will climb up, easily hit 140c return oil temp if your not careful.

If you can fit a secondary tranny cooler to help ease the stress on the box.
