Because the bloody thing is leaking oil and I don't have a plug the right size
(bunch of smart arses)
I got mine from rover parts, cant remember how much but it was bugger all. I know that because at the time I was doing heaps for road worthy and can remember thinking, at least that was cheap.
While your at it, get yourself the O rings that go in the oil lines behind/beside the oil pressure switch, just incase you find out like me that not only do you need a new switch, but you have a massive leak from the oil line. I think the O rings were $2 each, or was it $2 for 4.

Sorry Rick, couldn't resist.
Cant understand why, but my old Disco1 leaks no oils from anywhere!
P'raps a bloke should loosen something just to prove its a Land Rover, eh?
It does drink a little water though, but considereing I also drink a "little" beer its keeping the right company.

All good Mike, I dish it out enough too
Tonic, I usually have those in stock as a JIC but they were replaced last winter when the oil t/stat stuck open.
Interesting to watch the water temp not rise at all under load when it was cool out and about, the oil was doing all the work.
