What is this pin called, and where do I get one?

I have a 110 Isuzu County with the world's squeakiest clutch pedal. I'm almost certain it is coming from the pedal pivot shaft, but no amount of lube will cure it. The car was sitting for a few years, but the clutch master cylinder is new. Anyway, the pedal box will be coming out as soon as it stops raining in Brisbane (which from where I'm sitting will be a while).

I have a rusty old spare pedal box in the shed, so I stripped it down today just to see what I'm up against. To get the pedal pivot shaft out you have to drift out a small pin. It looks like a one use only thing - this one was bent and broke coming out. It looks like a solid steel pin approx. 3mm in diameter.

This is probably a dumb question, but are these pins called, what size am I after and where can I get them? I bet they are only available in packs of 100

Roll pin (also other names). Can't help on size (take sample?), probably any car parts supplier , mechanic, etc. And yes, mostly sold in packets of 100 (maybe less, or as an assortment) but you should be able to get single items from some suppliers - for about 50% of the cost of 100! Try one of the Landrover specialists, for example.

Thanks John. I always thought roll pins were hollow, but a google image search indicates that some are indeed solid. I also see that they come in a bewildering array of sizes so once I find a supplier I'll have to take the parts with me.

I don't suppose anyone knows the size so I can just order a packet?

The bible calls it a " pin,grooved,headless". Part number R50446. As John says a roll pin will probably do the same job at a cheaper price no doubt.

That's the easy bit Dave, finding one could be a bit harder. Have a search for Mills pins on the internet - that's what they really are. Might be able to get one from a bolt supplier if you take the old one or whats left of it in.

Dave, I have a roll pin assortment box. I live in Norman Park.
