    Hi,

The brown one is FRC8220, this is the older type, the dust cover varies with each type,

I can't tell with the pictures, but is the 'brown' one actually a red high-temp one by any chance? I've noticed of late that a lot of high temp seals are being replaced with after market black ones.....

I will however reiterate very strongly to use sealant.

Well I have just butchered a brand new pinion seal while 'gently' tapping it in, so then I decided to do a little searching and after reading this I am now more confident using Justin's technique rather than tapping it in.
Another example of the value of this forum and the contributions of it's members.
    Thanks Justin.

    Cheers,

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
