    bench testing td5 injectors

I presume its posible, any one know of a place in WA. Have stripped down my old td5 engine today and found 3 and 4 cyc badly scored (grabbed and let go), at a quick glance looks to have cracks around the glowplugs but the injector tips look undamaged so I thought I would have them tested mybe with the view of selling or keeping for spares.
    cheers

I don't know of anyone in Australia that does it but Feather Diesel in the UK will check them for 30 Pounds each and repair for 150 Pounds

Are they black tops or green tops??

Delphi injectors need specific bench equipment to test. Don't go wire brushing anything or trying to pull them apart or you'll have an extra few shed paperweights.
United Fuel Injection in Rivervale I think have the gear as does one other replace I refuse to mention on the basis they burnt me when I worked there and I wouldn't send my worst enemy to to them.

You will need to know if they are black or green tops by looking at the colour of the plunger seal on the top.

When did you move to WA? I've been off here for a while...

Yeah, good luck with that! They're not cheep.. $1500 approx from new! What happened to the engine? If it was running nicely on all 5 before failing, chances are they'll be ok. If you do sell them be sure to put the colour code and number/letter code in the advert. Had one of mine fail and I was able to buy a second hand one of the brown/mustard colour code injectors for $150 and dropped it in. Having gone through the 'you can't just swap them' conversation on here, it ran beautifully. I did get it plugged in 10000km later as a guy had the magic box and I had beer!!
