I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Eldorado tyres. A set of the Trailcutter MT's is going to cost me atleast a couple hundred less than any of the cooper, bfg, goodyear etc., but I don't want to waste my money if they are only going to last half as long.

I'm told that they come out of the same factory as coopers. seem to be good, but i've not heard a lot of first hand reports.

Good rule of thumb is that if they are cheap, dont bother but I havnt heard of anyone who has used them.
Ive just measured my Goodyear MT/Rs and after 19 000 kays theyve worn 3mm so I should get around 80 000 kms before needing to change them at $280 a pop thats $70 a year (4 years) not bad I say the MT/Rs are 14mm deep new and they not an overly hard compound
If you shop around you should get a good deal on a good set of rubber
And yes the El Dorados are made in the same factory as Coopers

I run the ZR4 all terrains on my raod rims and the TrailcutterM/T's on my offroad rims.
I ran the ZR4 tyres on a Kimberley trip in June with no punctures. The M/Ts have been pretty impressive AFIAC.
Quiet on the road with reasonable grip in greasy yellow mud around where I do most of my playing.
I ran them in the snow in July and was most impressed.
Thanks for the info Hymie. How do they seem to be wearing, or haven't you done enough km's on them yet to be able to tell?
Can't rightly say how many K's I've had out of them as I swap tyres pretty frequently depending on conditions.
I can tell you that the ZR4 tyres are showing a fair bit of wear from chipping, not unusual given some of the sharp rocks around here. I've had them on for 3 years so I'd hazzard a guess and say they've done 60000K given the distance I drive regularly.
I have a 96 defender and have a set of Eldorado ZTR sport tyres on. They have gone past 80,000km, with a good 3mm left. Mainly drive sealed roads, some gravel, and off road is mainly on sand with some rock, but not much. Never had them balanced. I paid $210 each a few years ago. Very happy. Not a high load tyre though. Side walls wouldn't hack stoney terrain I'd say.
