    TD5 heads

How do the Spanish made AMC heads such as Turners sell hold up and perform compared to the OE ones ?
What's the port wall thickness like ?

Do ARP make a stud kit for the TD5 ?

    cheers.

    Hey Rick,

Supposedly the AMC heads are better.

The injector port wall thickness on the AMC heads is definetely thicker from the pictures I have seen, but I cant find any now! They are online somewhere!

I dont believe ARP do a stud conversion kit.

    Cheers
    Pete

    Thanks Pete and Don.

Much more meat around the injector and the fuel rail with the AMC head.

I can change it as much as I like, at least until I plonk down some cash, them I'm stuck.

    Hell, I had a nightmare the other night that I'd built up a TD5 then wished I'd built a 4BD1T !
Talk about toss and turn all night

I felt like when I finally woke up.

    Rick.
I have an AMC head on my D2a. The head was changed due to the dreaded fuel contamination of the oil thing. Still not convinced that the head was the problem. But now I have a superior quality head and 5 new injectors and no more problems. I've been told that the AMC head is more tolerant to an overheat as well. No probs with mine thus far.
    Regards

Rick I have used one for the last 18 Months without issue
If you are really keen give Turners a ring the UK they seem helpful and they sell this product.

While we're here, what's the better head/engine, the earlier EU2 compliant dual fuel rail head version, or the later single internal rail EU3 ?

ie. which is more reliable, makes better power/torque ?

    Neither... Both make the same!
