Disco1 fuel tank into County chassis?

I've got a donor D1 that sometime in the next millennium I will strip to build a County chassis. The County chassis will have a series ute cab body on it and a tray at the rear.

Does anybody know if the Disco1 fuel tank will carry over to the County chassis even if with minor fabrication or does it really need to be a County or Defender tank?

    Thanks for any responses.
    Cheers

Can't answer the exact question, but can tell you that when I was trying to fit a long range tank into my County:
    - Defender Td5 tank doesn't fit as the the crossmember in front of the tank is different on the Td5
    - Defender 300tdi tank does fit.

The standard tank from a 200tdi Defender looked exactly the same as the one I removed from my County, but I didn't actually fit it to confirm if there was any slight difference.

Thanks Steve, that's really good to know in case this tank won't come across and I do need to source another tank.

I tried to do exactly that some years ago and IIRC one problem was the filler moulded into the plastic disco tank fouled with the fore and aft body mounts welded over the chassis rails. That problem would probably be solved if you cut the RH body mount as they aren't required for trays.

Unfortunately I have a dim recollection that there was another problem besides this, but it was too long ago.
