    Hi you can easily make an adaptor from a truck tyre valve stem and a old spark plug, you then put the cylinder on TDC motor in gear, with the h/ brake on, put a small amount of air through the fitting and listen 1- exhaust no sound I.e rushing air exhaust valve ok, in the old day carby ...air flow inlet valve burnt, no air ok ....oil filler cap the same, this will tell you ring cond, if it blows the dip stick out. Not good.. Radiator cap if it bubbles or you get drowned cracked head or blown head gasket. And so on hope this makes some sence Gary
    Ps you can use the same adaptor to hold the valves shut to change the valve seals or springs with the head on
