Hi everyone,
The electronic coil pick up in my 1985 Range Rover fitted with Lucas 35DM8 distributor (breakerless type, see pic below) has gone open circuit. Confirmed with multimeter.
Looks simple enough to replace, the only problem is where can I buy it?
Seems really hard find another one, I've googled and ebayed and nothing much is available...is there a alternative after market pick up I can use or do I have to replace it with a whole new distributor?
Any help would be much appreciated.

AFAIK all these pickups are functionally the same, you can just solder and heatshrink on the connectors off your old pickup. You could probably find a used dissy with a stuffed vac advance and steal the pickup. I regularly see second hand dissies for sale on ebay. All D1's up to 1998 have smilar setups. Sometimes I buy one for my Bosch module conversions.

I'll see if I can get my hands on used dizzy to hack apart. Aftermarket unit from lrdirect in the UK looks good also.
