No,
It is not wobble, sorry. It is a longitudinal movement of the shaft, one per stroke, about half a mm (don't have a dial gauge).
My concerns are about the stress imposed to the timing belt, as well as to the injection pump front seal.
Thank you !
Hi,
Three months after discovering that my injection pump was cactus, I manage to install a good one. Engine runs (not very smooth, but this might be because of a leaky fuel line or damaged injectors, or because of the low idle speed) but, to my surprise (there is a catalog of words to use instead of "surprise", but just let it there) there is a slight wobble in the injection pump sprocket.
So... I'm thinking about checking with another sprocket, but I can not find its part number. Any help much appreciated.
Carlos

they do that...
the springs and pressures involved are classed as "not insignificant" and it will step back and forth,

Hi Dave,
Well... the longitudinal play of the rear plunger should be isolated from the drive shaft, you know that there are two "forks" with two theeth each that allow for rotational movement but avoids the longitudinal one, this is why I was concerned.
But if you have seen this thing before, then it is OK.
BTW, the pump is an ERR4046, for a model with EGR (not mine). In addition to the potentiometer (just removed) there is a side lever activated with two springs... do you know what the lever is for ?
