I have been surfing the net for info on getting a switch for activating the lock up converter in the auto for steep descents and activating in any gear for cooler running on the gearbox oil.
I am going to a camper too and this will help.
Is there anyone ho knows of this pe of system. I also know of a gearbox controller kit for autos but this model is the wrong one (I think) it has to the 4hp24 not the 4hp22

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
AFAIK the only mod option you have for lockup is the valve body mod that gives lockup in 3rd as well as 4th.

Yep as Steve said, I have an auto in my Defender and enquired about the options. Costly and not very useful.
Put an extra cooler on it and spend the money on something else that may be limiting...
An X Brake is only $400 and solves many problems with hill starts and stopping which is a major risk in an auto as once its stalled and in 'park' your parked until you winch forward and take the strain off the pawl.
The advantages of the auto outweigh the drawbacks. IMHO.
Manuel Automatics do the valve mod but as mentioned it's not cheap.

It would be handy to get lockup in 3rd though as I see a 30c temp drop on mine when it hits lockup in 4th, in fact on really steep hills when towing I drop into lo range to take advantage of this.
The best thing I did was fit a P38 cooler though after I cooked the transmission the first time when towing.
Cheers
