    d2 ACE Front Bush removal

    Ok, time for an SOS
I was really smart and decided change the front ACE bush - number 9 on this here diagram. I also did number 13 by two but they are easy. I have an annoying clunk at every turn and I suspected the ACE bushes. Now I know it has a bit of swivel in the bush but mine was just a bit loose and sloppy for my liking and the rubber covers were all shot.

Ok, how do I get the damn thing out? I got the bolt out easy as I said it was all loose and stuff but no matter how I beat the bush it just won't budge!

Whilst the knowledgeable amongst you will say press it out, I am at home, not at work and now can't drive it coz I kinda attacked the bushing face with a power hacksaw!

If the only option is to press it out and in, I'll have to remove the ace ram. Again on my handy picture, where is best to disconnect the anti roll bar? I am guessing bolt 23 but it will be uber tight!

    Suggestions?

I thought about heat, lots of it?
Just keep beating with a bigger hammer?
Cut my losses and remove the anti roll bar and take to work?

    Cheers
    Ralph

Well, I bit the bullet and removed the anti-roll bar.
I can't believe how hard pressed in that bush is! Hardest bit was finding a round to press in and out. Lucky the press I used was 60t!

Not the cleanest bush insertion I've ever done and it is still 1 mm or so proud of fully home but it won't come out!

    Now to assemble.

    Success!
It made a bit of difference to the overall knocking and clunking underneath.
Didn't eliminate the worst clunk though
Whilst checking some of the other bushes I discovered that the rear anti roll bar ones were shot as well. 20min and a new set was in.
    Major clunk now gone.
I can hear all the other small, less obvious ones now including one that sounds suspiciously like wheel bearings or more likely swivel pins or tie rods.

    I'll keep chasing the clunks.
