    Cool Aluminium radiator issues??

    Giddy, has anyone heard of any issues running an all aluminium radiator in a V8 discovery s1???

    Seeing as how the engine is aluminium I wouldn't think so? I may be wrong so

    I think the end tanks are the main worry with them especially if your going to do allot of 4wdriving.

    We run them in speedway and have no issues take some pretty big hits

    I think you have to make sure that they are earthed properly. Other more knowledgable ones may be able to explain this.

    Thanks for the replys ,the radiator bloke is going to do a regular check on electrolis ( probably spell wrong ) landrover copper rad $700 44mm core, all alloy $400 x 57mm thick.

    But whats the difference in the tube count for copper v alloy.

    I currently run a alloy core plastic tank jobie in my tdi disco it went in with all the new stuff when i recoed the engin its done 20k now and works fine .

    I got it sent over from DLS in the UK with a swag of other gear for 50 quid and the rad was only 110 quid .

    I plan on fitting a larger all alloy rad by the end of the year as i have turbo mods and larger FMIC on the go at the moment im making a larger FMIC next i will be making my own alloy rad with a core i will get from the same guy who supplyed me the IC core .

    Alloy rads are great as long as the made right and mounted right they will outlast and out perform a copper equivilent

    I have VT Commodore Alloy Radiators with twin thermo fans in both my Classic Rangie's. Never had a problem, + they have been in now for over 15 years! If you need to replace they only cost $100 new on Ebay!!
