Cam COver / Rocker cover gasket TD5 definitive answer needed!

    Hi Guys

I Just want a definitive answer on the rocker cover gasket for the td5.

Does the 2A> gasket (LVP000020) have a larger D seal than the 1A> gasket (ERR7094)?

I have what was marked as an LVP000020 on the defender and the D on the gasket is too small.. so I need to make sure.

    Thanks

    Steve

Hi Steve, the later and earlier gaskets are not interchangable.
That's why they are different part numbers , you must buy them by your vin number ( unless some one has changed engines )

    Hi Mario

Thanks... I am totally aware of this which is why I am asking which has the bigger D.

I had one part that 'should' have been right according to the vin (2a>) but didnt fit (gasket had smaller D but was apparently a lvp000020) I have heard that the seller was renumbering parts to get rid... however I dont know if that applied to mine.

As i dont know if the head has been changed on the engine I just need to know which of the 2 gaskets has the larger D

    Thanks

    Steve

    Thanks Mario... appreciate you looking

I suspected that the wrong part was in the right packaging.. apparently not an uncommon thing to happen from a certain UK supplier in the period 2008 - 2010 when the gaskets were bought.. quite a few complaints about the practice!

At least i know my engine is correct..

    Thanks

    Steve
