Most mechanics say never to mix oils.
I did it once and never had an issue, just make sure it is same grade and both are fully synthetic.
Afternoon folks.
I've got to do the service on my Td5 today, and I've hit a bit of a snag.
I've currently got Caltex brand Havoline 5W30 oil, but I don't have enough for a full swap.
Unfortunately, only Caltex outlets sell Caltex oil, and neither of the outlets here sell 5W30 in anything bigger than a top up container.
So my query is this, can I go out and buy another brand 5W30 synthetic oil and use both of them, or should I go all one brand?
Cheers

Mixing happens anyway, but this is an interesting read

Hmmm.
We'll see what happens I guess, I've got a lot of faith in the Td5 oil system so I'm assuming it should be okay.
I picked up some Nulon 5W30 fully synthetic, same specs as my Havoline so I'm hoping it should be okay.
