Darn it wish I'd known that!!! Ahh well car was a shed for the money and I got my lse for less 3 days later so just aswell I didn't know about that or I would of bought a shed just because it was the only one for sale at the time

Unless you know your bottle is really clean inside, I recommend you tip the bottle to nearly upside down, at about 75 degrees to the horizontal. Lean it against a wheel or bumper. It's quite common for older bottles to develop a significant amount of loose scale. You want it to stay on one side when you drain via the valve that is normally on top. If you accidentally transfer the scale to your filler point it may end up leaking quite badly when you remove the hose.

Gas will only transfer to a vehicle tank that is so low it doesn't produce much useful power any more. If I do this I let the engine idle until it stops, then the tank is as empty as possible. Gas transfer stops when the difference of pressure between the donor bottle and the car tank drops to the opening pressures of all the one way valves in the filler system. This is usually around 10 to 20% of the volume of the vehicle tank.
