Discovery 2 Rear anti roll bar link help needed

Hi all. Im hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction to getting my td5 back on the road please.

Yesterday I fitted a new offside rear drop link only due to the fact that the old one had split boots. The job was easy , but when I drove the car last night, the first corner I went round there was a almighty bang.
The new link arm has broken so im now going to fit a genuine link arm instead, but the trouble I now have is the rear ace arm is all the way up and Ive tried leaving it down but it wont move.

Do I have to depressurise the ace system ? and if so , how ? or is there a trick of the trade for this problem ??

Post a link to a few photos maybe? I'm only about 37% sure I know what exactly which components you're referring to.

Anybody know the recommended way of releasing the ACE acutator

    Hi Guys,

I'm in the same position tonight. Replacing a snapped link where the ball has pulled out of the socket. I now need to move the actuator to the correct position to install the replacement.

I don't really want to crack the hydraulic connections if this can be avoided. I do have a Hawkeye so will be having a look at the options.

    Cheers

it may be as simple as starting the engine and engaging low range.

ace automatically disables in low range.

you may be able to move the actuator then.

    this just a guess though.

    Answer - Use a Hawkeye

Using Hawkeye to activate "Control valve 1" freed up the actuator so that I can move it to any position. Done with the ignition turned on but engine not started.

I assume that "Control valve 2" would be for the front actuator.

    Now to install the link...

That was a good move, activating any of the directional controll valves with tester but pump not running will put the system in "floppy" condition which means the fluid will circulate freely through the modulator, about the control valves 1 and 2, they are not for front or rear but for left or right movements, DCV1 opens for right turn and DCV2 for left
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
