    Best way to attach 'fender headlight protectors to

    just inherited some britpart ( i believe ) hinged grill headlight protectors for my defender from a mate but didnt inherit the fittings, whats the best way to attach these firmly? self tapper them in? or just rivet and drill out if headlight bulbs need replacing?

    Drill out and fit small riv nuts with Allen key headed bolts

    On mine the bottom bar has a hinge bit, these are through bolted under the light surround. The top were rivnuts with just Phillips head screws.

    If you don't have a bulbar and intend to get one, don't mount them central to the light or they will foul on the bar uprights and need moving=more holes. I would also mount them up slightly, I mounted mine with the top hard against the light surround and with the bull bar it doesn't open far, making the light hard to get at. My bar is an OEM one off a td5 if it helps.
