    Cheap td5 fuel pumps, verdict?

    Hi all,

Can anyone share any experiences with cheap td5 fuel pumps? Are they cheap and cheerful, or just plain cheap and nasty?

g'day mate....I've answered this q in a few other threads.....but I installed one....from british off road in lieu of oem about 4 yrs and 150000km ago. it has always been noisier then the original but hasn't let me down....I cut a flap in the rear carpet rather than dismantle everything and lifting the carpet....you can feel where you need to cut if you want. when you refit the pump, push the seal down onto the pump before trying to refit lockring or it will give you grief....careful not to bend float arm or your fuel tank levels will be out. should take less than an hour unless you dismantle the rear bins to lift the carpet.....good luck.Dennis
