Thread: How much power will an LT230 really take???

    I'd prob be using the older 1.003:1 unit as need the gearing, and I think it's a given that it would have to have Mr Ashcrofts new center diff assembly....

    Ashcroft can build the taper roller models with the 1.003:1 ratio.

    So, we saying that a 1.003:1 with taper roller bearings, and the fancy Truetrac style center diff would handle the Cummins..... Just bolt it behind it and see I guess!!

    There is already at least one 6x6 landrover in the UK with a cummins 6BT and LT230.

    Do you know how much power and torque a LS1 makes?

    ls1 has less torque than a tweaked 4BD1T.

    Search for buckon37s on pirate,
    He's run the lt230 in a few KOH
    That's behind a very worked chev v8
    I'd imagine the stress and shock loading in that race would exceed just about all trouble we could give it

    Lt230 is one component lr got pretty well right, it will easily take the cummins
