td5 relay
can someone help me find out what the yellow relay is under the driver seat is for as it is makeing a bussing sound and the vehical wont start as all the dash lights just flicker on and off. When i remove it only have the bat and oil light on the dash.
I think it is the starter relay but not sure
the number on the relay is R6K9
i havent found any info in the handbook

Mate it sounds like you have a flat battery ! And I,m pretty sure it's the starter motor relay !

it is not a flat bat as I had been driving and only stop for about 10 min before trying to start it again

Sounds more like what they call the Main Relay in the wiring diagram.
I cant remember but I think it is unique eg not the same as the other yellow relays under the seat.
If if isn't unique just swap the suspect one with one of the others and see if the problem goes away and you create another with the faulty relay being on another circuit.
The starter relay on the TD5 2002 models on is on the firewall it may be under the seat on a 1999 model??

was a bad earth
all fixed no relay required
