there was a company in Inverell NSW or similar area that did laser cutting on contract. Will investigate further.
I have a .dxf of a small part (210mmx95mm) that I want cut
-Tolerances need only be just better than vague
-Material to be 5mm mild steel
-6 or so pieces only required at this stage
I have sent the .dxf to a few commercials for a quote but would be happier to support an AULRO business if they wanted the job.
Due to my location I have to pay freight on absolutely everything so where the business is based is pretty well irrelevant
Regards,
Steve

I have used Action Lasercutting in WA for all my jobs as AgroJnr used to work there, and I have continued to use them since he left. Not the cheapest, but they don't change for drawing the items up, which saves time.
They don't accept CC, which is a PITA. I bellieve they accept bank transfer.

Thanks all for the tip offs.
My three quote requests from three large laser/plasma burners have all been unreplied for 4 days
(way to go aussie businesses)
I ended up contacting Mick from Home Page whose posts I had seen on weldingweb.org. He is based in Murwillumbah.
Lets just say - I sent the email request during the witching hour last night. He had replied by 8am.
One clarification back and forth and a quote/invoice was in my inbox by 10 am.
If I had not have been away from home I reckon the parts would have been in the post today.
Now that is the way to do business!
Oh and compared to the last lot of cutting I got done by a big place in Cairns - his prices are pretty sharp.
Ill post a picky of the burnt parts when I get them.
Steve
as promised - parts arrived today
So to sum up parts were cut and mailed <24 hours from first email
and then got to me in out here in Timbuktoo in 2 working days.
Awesome service and top quality work to boot!

Mmmmmm, might have just found the guy who can cut me another bumper for my 101!! What drawing did u have to give him? CAD or scale pen drawn? Cheers. This is what I want out of 3mm MS.
Sitec,
I used LibreCAD an opensource CAD program to generate a .dxf file (CAD file) which I emailed to Mick.
I can only assume he would be happy to generate a cut file from a scaled hand drawn diagram.
He was very quick to respond. Just flick him an email.
Perhaps the only issue for a part as large as what I imagine you are chasing in that picture (the entire bumper around the lights etc) would be freight. He is located on north coast of NSW?
