    One Light - two Switches.....

I want to wire in a 12 volt light so I can have a switch in the front of the vehicle and a switch in the back of the vehicle, so I can operate the light from either switch eg. turn it on in the front and then turn it off if required from the back

Would anybody know which wire goes where I've tried a google search but can't find anything that relates to a light and two switches.

    Thanks in advance

It's the switches you need, single pole double throw (i think is the correct term).

Are you using standard household light switches? If so wire it the same as austars pic. On the switch it will have 1, C, 2, on the terminals, the positive will go into the C terminal, a wire will go from the 1 terminal on this same switch to the 1 terminal on the other switch. Another wire will do the same on the 2 terminals. The C terminal on the second switch will go to the positive on the light. Then a negative from the light to earth. Understand?..
    Google "2 way light wiring"

You can do it with toggle switches, single pole double throw (will have SPDT written on it or the packaging), as Bushie already said, unless you like the look of domestic type ones.

Thanks for the pointers I've cheated a bit but it works. I've connected a switch from the rear switch panel to the interior light switch on the dash which is then connected to the front lights. If the rear switch is "on" I can switch the front lights on and off with the dash switch and then turn them "off" if needed by the rear switch (when I hop into my bunk)

I assume this is an okay way to do this, as I already had the switch plates I didn't want to buy anymore switches.

I will now have front and rear lights that can be switched separately.
